Thank you for expressing an interest in representing your community through ICAlliance.
This is the beginning of a transparent, community-driven process intended to identify credible local representatives who understand their communities, are prepared to listen and are willing to accept public accountability.
Watch this short introduction to understand why ICAlliance was established, what we are looking for in community representatives and what you can expect from the process ahead.
WELCOME > ORIENTATION > REGISTRATION
You have not yet been selected or approved as a candidate.
At this stage, ICAlliance has received your interest and created access to the candidate process. You may now review how the process works, decide whether the ICAlliance model is right for you and, if you choose to continue, complete the Rapid Candidate Application.
ICAlliance may verify the information you provide, request supporting documents and contact you to clarify aspects of your application.
Nothing from your application will be published before the required review and approval process has been completed.
Your primary responsibility is to the residents of the community you seek to represent.
You must be willing to listen, consult, communicate and represent their interests honestly. A community representative must remain accessible and answerable to the people who placed their trust in them.
ICAlliance provides the registered political platform, organisational structure, candidate preparation and collective support needed to participate effectively in municipal elections.
The Alliance supports community-backed candidates without removing their responsibility towards their own communities.
ICAlliance must provide candidates with a fair, transparent and properly administered process.
Candidates must provide accurate information, act honestly, disclose relevant interests and remain accountable to their communities and to the Alliance’s constitutional, ethical and legal framework.
Provide the initial information ICAlliance needs to understand your background, your relationship with the community and your reasons for wanting to stand.
ICAlliance will review the information supplied and may contact you for clarification, an introductory discussion or additional supporting information.
Applicants who meet the initial requirements may proceed to further assessment, verification, workshops and community-selection preparation.
Candidates who complete the required process, receive the necessary community support and are approved by ICAlliance may proceed to the formal IEC nomination process. This is the short overview. The full process, candidate obligations, workshops, agreements and selection stages are explained on the separate Orientation page.
